Genesis 27:38
Esau said to his father, “Do you have only one blessing, my father? Bless me too, my father!” Then Esau wept aloud.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Thu, Nov. 5, BLESSING (Gen. 27:38). Undoubtedly that all parents would love their children. They would give whatever they have to the children. But undeniable too that the blessing of the parents are limited. We can see here that the blessing of Isaac was limited:
a. Focus on material and governmental.
How he would prosperous. How he would be honored by his brother and other nations.
b. Falsely given.
Isaac could be deceived. He could give the blessing to the wrong person.
c. Few.
Isaac didn’t have many blessing. In fact, he had only 1 blessing. Compared to God, he had unlimited blessings.
d. Fait accomply.
Actually, blessing is only comes from God. How on earth Isaac dared to give the blessing and act as the source of blessing?
So, let’s ask blessing from God, whom would bless us unmistakenly and unlimitedly. ASH.
