Psalms 28:1
To you, LORD, I call; you are my Rock, do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you remain silent, I will be like those who go down to the pit.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sun, Feb, 27, DEAF (Ps. 28:1). Wow, if we read this verse, we are really shocking. Why? Because, this verse seems showing how David was so brave to speak like that to God. He was using a brave word toward God. Wasn’t he too brave in saying thing like that? He said that God was deaf. He had a deaf ear.
1. Insulting.
He was insulting God as deaf. Although, he was a rich king, a very respected and honored king, a very old king, a very great king, etc., I think, he couldn’t say thing like that. I think, it was an impolite word to say to God.
2. Accusing.
He was not only insulting, but he was accusing God really had a deaf ear. He had been deaf toward him so far.
3. Intimidating.
His word intimidated God, not to do that. He warned God not to do that to him. I think, he was not appropriate this time. But, God was kind. He understood his mistakes. ASH.
