Psalms 42:6
My soul is downcast within me; therefore I will remember you from the land of the Jordan, the heights of Hermon —from Mount Mizar.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sun, Mar. 13, DOWNCAST (Ps. 42:6). Feeling is up and down. Sometimes, it may be very spiritful. The other time, it may be very downcast. Not only layman, but also kings, like David. Not only the adults, but also the children. But, when a man downcast, he still can:
1. Remember.
Downcast is not the same as fainting. Downcast but still conscious. David taught us that our mind had to control or teach us. Our mind is located at the head, higher than the heart, which is in the body, below the head.

2. Hope.
Downcast still can stick to the hope. David had a hope. His hope was simple. He hoped God not to leave him. He could stick and hold on to his hope. He could still have this hope.

3. Pray.
Downcast still can pray. A man who is down like David, has to pray. It is the perfect time to pray. Prayer is not only when nothing happens. In the bad time, we have to pray. This is the secret of David’s strength. So, when we are down, remember to hold on to our hope and pray. ASH.
