2 Samuel 12:25
And because the Lord loved him, he sent word through Nathan the prophet to name him Jedidiah.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, July 16, JEDIDIAH (II Sam. 12:25). Jedidiah was the new name of Solomon. Solomon was the son of David and Bathsyeba. God loved Solomon. As the sign of his love, he sent prophet Nathan to come to David and gave a new name to Solomon. God loved Solomon, although:
a. He was born by sinners.
Although, the parents were sinners, God still loved the baby. No problems and hindrances for God to love Solomon. His parents were big time sinners. Solomon got a title as the son of sinnets, But, God’s love didn’t lack on him.

b. He was just a baby.
He had not known anything. He had not done anything yet. It was not because he could do great things, so that God loved him. He didn’t ask God to love him. He in fact was just a baby.

c. He was just a human being.
He was just a limited human being. Solomon was not perfect. He would never be perfect. He would sin in the future. Yet, God loved him. God’s love is immeasureable, unfathomable, uncomparable. As God loved Jedidiah, God surely would love us. ASH.
