If she has made herself impure and been unfaithful to her husband, this will be the result: When she is made to drink the water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering, it will enter her, her abdomen will swell and her womb will miscarry, and she will become a curse.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Mon, Feb. 8, MISCARRY (Num. 5:27). Married women are destined and designed to have babies. She has to be pregnant and give birth babies. This is natural and normal for women. Therefore, if they couldn’t be pregnant or have children, they would be very ashamed. This is a huge disgrace for them. On the other hand, if they could be pregnant, they would be very proud and happy. Because,
a. They can have children.
Having children means having descendant. The inheritance and family names can be continued.
b. They are pure.
Having children is one of the ways to proof a pure woman. An unfaithful woman is tested her purity by drinking a bitter water. And if she does impure, the bitter water will cause her miscarry and can’t have children.
c. They can habe th possibilities to be the mother of Jesus.
If they can have children, the children might be the awaited Messiah, Jesus. If it does come true, the pride would be doubled. So, we understand that midcarry is a huge disgrace for Israelite women. ASH.
