Leviticus 13:26
But if the priest examines it and there is no white hair in the spot and if it is not more than skin deep and has faded, then the priest is to isolate them for seven days.
Leviticus 13:49
If the affected area in the fabric, the leather, the woven or knitted material, or any leather article, is greenish or reddish, it is a defiling mold and must be shown to the priest.
Shalom.sdr, my devotion today, Wed, Jan. 20, PRIEST (Lev. 13:26, 49). A priest had so many other things to do than only doing his ceremonial tasks. All of them jobs were important. Nothing was less important.
a. He had to determine and examine health issues.
At the time, doctors were not exist. They were slaves in Egypt. No time and opportunity for them to study and to be doctors. Disease was not too complicated. So the priest also had to be able to face these issues. The priest had to prevent and anticipate all diseases to contract other people.
b. He had to involve and intervene hygiene issues.
He had also had to watch the hygiene of the people. The cloths, the houses, the hairs, etc. He had to emphasize the hygiene and sanitized living for the people.
c. He had to take care the safety and security issues.
He had to isolate a person whom was sick. He had to prepare the place for him. He had to check him after the isolation time was over. So, the people had to support the priest by praying and obeying them. Pray so that they wouldn’t missed judge. Pray so that they wouldn’t fall in sins. ASH.
