1 Samuel 9:2
Kish had a son named Saul, as handsome a young man as could be found anywhere in Israel, and he was a head taller than anyone else.
1 Samuel 9:3
Now the donkeys belonging to Saul’s father Kish were lost, and Kish said to his son Saul, “Take one of the servants with you and go and look for the donkeys.”
1 Samuel 9:7
Saul said to his servant, “If we go, what can we give the man? The food in our sacks is gone. We have no gift to take to the man of God. What do we have?”
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, June 11, SAUL (I Sam. 9:2, 3, 7). Saul was the best man in the whole Israel which God chose to be the king for Israel. Notice his outstanding things in him.
a. Handsome.
He was the most handsome man in all Israel at that time. He was the most handsome a man could be.
b. Height.
He was very tall in all Israel at that time. He was a head taller than everybody.
c. Wealthy.
His father was rich. He had many donkeys and servants.
d. Obedient.
He obeyed his father completely. He went to look for the lost donkey right away once his father asked him.
e. Persistent.
He was persistent with the command of his father. His father asked him to look for the donkey, he sought the donkey till far away, till Ephraim, Shalisha, Shaalim and Zuph. And still looked for the donkey.
f. Generous.
He loved to give. He gave half shekel of silver to Samuel.
But the best man of the mankind still can not be compared to God. God is still much better than all mankind. Thus, let’s obey and honor God. ASH.
