Numbers 13:33
We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.”

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Tue, Feb. 13, SEE (Num. 13:33). Many times, what we see determine our faith. Men are very depending on what they see. They demand to see everything by their own eyes to believe. If they don’t see, they would not believe. The Israelites had seen the promised land. But they also saw the people whom lived there. The people were strong, giant size and well known for their cruelty. Therefore:
a. They forget the promise of God.
God had promised many times that he would give the land to them. Not only once, but many times. God’s promise was only 1, to give the land to them. It was repeated many times. How could they forget that promise?

b. They forget all the great miracles of God.
So far, they.had experienced many great miracles of God. By being at the place close to Canaan actually was the proof of God’s miracles. They had seen the 10 plagues in Egypt. They had crossed the Red Sea walking on its dry land. They had win the war with The Amalekites. Etc. How could they not believe that God would give Canaan to them?

c. They forget their identity.
They consider themselves as grasshoppers. They minimized their ownselves. They diminished their own ability. In other words, they were so down and low esteemed. What do we see today? What do we see in us, at the front and above us? Do we still believe God after seeing all those facts? Let’s keep believing not by sight, but by faith. ASH
