Ezekiel 42:20
So he measured the area on all four sides. It had a wall around it, five hundred cubits long and five hundred cubits wide, to separate the holy from the common.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, July 24, SEPARATE (Eze. 42:20). The idea of separation between the holy an the common has been established since long time ago. Yes, the holy can’t be combined with the unholy. The idea stays till forevermore. Even till the earth vanished. But the method and ways may vary. The method of seperation in the old is symbolized by a curtain or distance or many other things. In this verse, the separation is symbolized with wall. What about today? Are we suppose to separate ourselves with the unbelievers? Can’t we make friends with them? No. The separation is not by things or by distance, but by action. We have to separate ourselves from the sinful acts of the unbelievers and the gentiles. So we may befriended with them, but the actions not always be the same. -ash
