1 Chronicles 12:23
These are the numbers of the men armed for battle who came to David at Hebron to turn Saul’s kingdom over to him, as the Lord had said:

1 Chronicles 12:24
From Judah, carrying shield and spear—6,800 armed for battle;

1 Chronicles 12:38
All these were fighting men who volunteered to serve in the ranks. They came to Hebron fully determined to make David king over all Israel. All the rest of the Israelites were also of one mind to make David king.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, Sept. 24, TROOPS (I Chron. 12:23-24, 38). The troop of David was really amazing.
1. The skill.
They were skillful in fighting, using weapons,

2. The unity.
They were united and 1 heart. They were not only proven in fighting, but also in doing things. This time, they were 1 heart to turn the kingdom over from Saul to David. They didn’t have other motif. They didn’t change their motif.

3. The commitment.
They had a strong commitment, to accomplish their purpose. They wouldn’t stop until their purpose achieved. They just wanted to see David sat on the throne. How amazing if a king had a troop like this. Does God have a troop like this, especially the commitment, to make him king in our life? ASH.
