Deuteronomy 19:4
This is the rule concerning anyone who kills a person and flees there for safety—anyone who kills a neighbor unintentionally, without malice aforethought.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Tue, March 30, UNINTENTIONAL (Deut. 19:4). Human being is limited. No one is perfect. Many times unintentionally commit mistakes, even crimes and sins. God knows this so well. Afterall, he was the one who created us. Afterall, he was the one who designed us. Afterall , he was the one who put us on earth. Therefore, he didn’t punish us for an unintentional mistakes. He will forgive the unintentional mistakes, although:
a. We don’t ask forgiveness.
Unintentional mistakes often done unconsciously. We don’t realize when and where. Then, how we can ask forgiveness, if we don’t know.
b. The mistake is so big.
Although, because of the act, someone died. Unintentional mistake can cause a very serious crime. But it is understood and forgiven.
c. He doesn’t pay the consequence.
If he is unable to pay the consequence, because he is poor, it’s fine. For example, if he unintentionally break a glass and he doesn’t have money to pay the prize of the glass, then, he is free from all charges. I believe the law of God is just. He knows perfectly and deeply whether a man does that mistake intentionally or unintentionally. So, this can relieve us from the guilty feeling for unintentional mistake. ASH.
