Psalms 127:2
In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat — for he grants sleep to those he loves.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Mon, June 6, VAIN (Ps. 127:2). Vain is a fearful word. How do we feel, if after all the hard works, everything is a vain. We have spent everything and it is all zero. What happen if everything is meaningless. We just don’t have anything to start all over again. We are not young anymore. We just can’t repeat the process from the beginning.
1. Vain for the builders.
Everything that the builders did are a vain. He build a house, but the house is not dwelled. No one uses the house. The house is empty. It is going to be the place for dust. At the end, it is going to be auctioned or given for free to others.
2. Vain for the workers.
Everything that they did are in vain. They worked all day, all week, all the time, but the results were not worth it. The income was small. The income was too little. It is not prohibited to work. But working with the heart leaning on God would be much better.
3. Vain for the warriors.
The warriors tried very hard to defend the city was a vain. He could protect and defend for 1 day, but the next day or the day after, the city lost. The enemy took over the city. So, don’t be happy, if we can be prosperous and succesful for 1 day. Because, perhaps, it os only for 1 day. The next day, everything is gone. Believe in God. Wait for God. ASH.
