1 Kings 10:7
But I did not believe these things until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not even half was told me; in wisdom and wealth you have far exceeded the report I heard.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, Aug. 6, WISDOM (I Kg. 10:7). Solomon is the wisest person on earth. Not only before, when he was alive. Not only at his time. Not only just a person whom ever lived in earth. But for all ages. Before and after, no one is wiser than him. It is not me or man whom says it. It is God whom claims it. We can see that his wisdom enlightened the fool. Not only the regular people, but the wise person from afar, Queen Sheba. She was actually one among the fools. We can see her fool, when she:
1. Coming.
She didn’t feel enough only by hearing the Solomon’s wisdom. By coming, she showed her foolishness and arrogance. She was too arrogant acknowledge that Solomon was wiser than her. She needed to come to prove it.
2. Seeing.
Seeing is believing. She forgot that eyes are limited. If she was really wise, she could believe without seeing. This is the real difference between The Hebrews and the other nations. The Hebrews are the peoplwle whom depend on hearing, not seeing.
3. Asking.
She asked questions which showing her foolishness. She was answered easily. No debate. No further questions. No difficulties to understand and receive the answer of the king. So, if we are wise, we have to learn from God. Humble ourselves before God. Never be arrogant. ASH.
