Genesis 16:4
He slept with Hagar, and she conceived. When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sun, Oct. 25, DESPISE (Gen. 16:4). How fast a person change to the worse? Usually, once he has something more than anyone, he would change to the worse. Here, we can see that Hagar change to the worse so fast when she was pregnant. She used to submit to her mistress. Suddenly, she changed to the worse. She was proud, because she could be pregnant and her mistress couldn’t. Not only her, but us also. We can easily change to the worse, when we have something more or better than other people. This is not because of the nationality of Hagar, whom was an Egyptian. It is the sinful nature in our heart. Have we changed to the better? Several things which can proof that we have been changed to the better:
a. Give hello first.
Do we greet other people first? Do we wait to be greeted by other people first then we greet him back as a response? Do we greet with warm and friendly smile? Do we look at him with loving eyes or humiliating eyes?

b. Give hand first.
Do we offer help to others for things that he needs? Do we deliberately care for other’s difficulties? Do we want to give hand to help them?

c. Give heart first.
We are not only giving hello and hand, but also heart. Do we love them? Remember that love is unconditional. God commands us to love even our enemies. Do we have 3 things above. Those are some of the proof of our kind hear. Let’s be kind. Let’s be humble. Let’s be good God’s child (ASH)
