Psalms 141:5
Let a righteous man strike me —that is a kindness; let him rebuke me —that is oil on my head. My head will not refuse it, for my prayer will still be against the deeds of evildoers.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Mon, June 20, STRIKE (Ps. 141:5). A strike is a blow, a hit, a punch and a fist. A righteous man can experience the strike from the evildoers. Not only verbally, but also physically. Wow, we can be stricken by evildoers. No wonder, God says if someone slaps your left cheek, give your right cheek too.
1. Kindness.
The strikea from the evildoers are considered as kindness. In such a way, the strikes are somekind of attentions. They pay attention to us. They send and give us attentions by giving strikes. They also can be considered as “communications.” If don’t strike, meaning no communications, no contacts. So, David received those strikes as kindness.

2. Kindle the prayers.
The strikes are reminding us to pray for them. We should not strike them back. But the strikes reminding us that they need to be included and mentioned in our prayer time.

3. Keep us moving.
The strikes can motivate us to be better. We need to put great effort to grow, to move forward. The strikes are like the gas to make us keep moving. So, don’t lose heart. Be spiritful. ASH.
