Numbers 36:9
No inheritance may pass from one tribe to another, for each Israelite tribe is to keep the land it inherits.”

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Thu, March 11, INHERITANCE (Num. 36:9). Inheritance is very important for The Israelites. It is valuable and meaningful. They have to honor and guard it with their life. It can’t be traded, sold, taken for granted. The descendant has to keep it seriously. Why?
a. It reminds the experience of the ancestor.
The ancestor of The Israelites had passed so many things. When they see the inheritance, they remember the toil, the struggle, the ups and downs of the ancestors. They are the chosen people. They are the protected ones.

b. It proofs the promise of God.
God’s promise is always true. It is not empty words. The proof is the inheritance. They can see, touch and even enjoy the proof.

c. It encourages the commitment to God.
When they see the inheritance, they will be encouraged to love God more. They have to be faithful. How they can forget such great love by seeing the inheritance? Shall we love God more when seeing his preservation over us? ASH.
