Deuteronomy 8:3
He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, March 19, BREAD (Deut. 8:3). Since in the beginning, God has decreed that man can not live by bread alone. Bread is the symbol of man’s strength and skill. Man can produce and made bread by his hands. But man can not produce manna. So the important thing about manna is not its shape and taste, but:
a. Its origin.
It was originated from God alone. Nobody could give manna. Nobody could produce manna. Nowhere could be found manna.
b. Its consistence.
It was given for them everyday for 40 years. God could feed them everyday or even forever.
c. Its nourishment.
Eating manna was not about the hunger and fed up. It was about the effect. The effect made them healthy and strong. Strong in physical. Strong in faith. So, without manna, a man van never be successful. Without God, a man can never proseper. ASH
