2 Chronicles 35:25
Jeremiah composed laments for Josiah, and to this day all the male and female singers commemorate Josiah in the laments. These became a tradition in Israel and are written in the Laments.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Mon, Nov. 15, LAMENTS (II Chron. 35:25). Laments were so familiar already in the Old Testament. People lamented for their loved ones whom had passed away. Many people, from king to laymen lamented for their loved ones. Joseph lamented for Jacob. David lamented for Saul and Jonathan. Here, Jeremiah lamented for Josiah.
1. Laments are ok.
Therefore, laments are ok to be done by normal human being. It is normal feeling for the loss of the loved ones.

2. Laments show the homage.
Laments show the homage and passion to the loved ones. It shows the deep feeling toward the loved ones.

3. Laments clean the mind and heart.
When people lament, it cleans the mind and heart of the person from sorrows, stresses. Much better than the person presses them. So, if we sad, it’s ok to lament. But not lamenting continuously. ASH.
