Nehemiah 10:28
“The rest of the people—priests, Levites, gatekeepers, musicians, temple servants and all who separated themselves from the neighboring peoples for the sake of the Law of God, together with their wives and all their sons and daughters who are able to understand—
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Mon, Dec. 6, SEPARATE (Neh. 10:28). In all the ministry, separation is important. Not only skill, brain, stength and etc. Even, everything seems useless and unimportant compared to this 1 thing. Separation from:
1. Eating and drinking.
Those whom serve in the temple must keep their life holy, separated from eating and drinking forbidden food or beverage.
2. Marrying the gentiles
They had to have the descendant and offspring pure. They had to marry the same nation. They couldn’t mary with the people outside from their nation.
3. Sinning.
Of course, the most important reason for separation is the holiness in morality, in spirituality. A person whom want to serve in the temple.had to have an absolute holiness. Including us today, we have to keep away from those 3 too. ASH.
