Psalms 43:3
Send me your light and your faithful care, let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Mon, Mar. 14, MOUNTAIN (Ps. 43:3). Long time ago, in the time of the ancient Israelites, the people had to work hard to worship. They had to go to the mountain to worship God. Mountain means:
1. Far away.
Mountain is not next door. Mostly, no people live in the mountain area. Yes, they may live in the higher territories, but usually not on the mountain, where they open the house door and see the cities down below.

2. Long journey.
When the people want to go to the mountain to worship, they must need a long time. Perhaps, they had to spend the whole day. Perhaps, they started to prepare themselves, prepare the food, started to walk to the mountain, prepare the sacrifice, do the worship, walking back home. Perhaps, they started from the morning and arrived at home in the night.

3. Great energy.
They must prepare the physical stamina to be able to do the worship the whole day. Worship at that time required great energy. It was like doing the exercise. It was like a sport. No wonder, the more they worship, the healthier they become. Moses and Noah when they died, they died in the healthy conditions. They died on the mountain. They died not in the bed room or hospital. They had to walk to the top of the mountain and died there. How easy for us to worship today. ASH.
