Genesis 50:19
But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God?
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sat, Nov. 28, AM I GOD? (Gen. 50:19). At this point, Joseph still didn’t consider himself as God. The opportunity was before the eyes. But Joseph was not a man of opportunity.
a. He didn’t use the opportunity to say bad things toward his brothers, while he was nobody. While he was a young teenager. While he was weak.
b. He didn’t use the opportunity to sleep with the wife of Potiphar.
The wife of Potiphar seduced, hold and asked him to sleep with her. He refused and run away.
c. He didn’t use opportunity to take revenge toward his borthers.
Jacob has died. He hold a very high power in Egypt. The brothers were powerless. It was a good time to take revenge. But, Joseph didn’t use the opportunity to sin. He knew everything was planned by God. May, we live like Joseph. Let’s not use the opportunity to commit sin. On the other hand, let’s use it for doing good and glorifying God. ASH.
