Numbers 35:19
The avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death; when the avenger comes upon the murderer, the avenger shall put the murderer to death.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Wed, 10 March, AVENGER (Num. 35:19). Men have emotion. Men have pride too. Many times, when.the pride or the emotion is triggered, then, they without any consideration can do evil things. They may hit, hurt and kill. They would forget everything nice and kind. The real character would burst out into the surface. But this verse reminds us that the vengeance is:
a. Belong to God.
God has all the right and right justice to punish a person. It is never given to us. So, let the all seeing God do his works.
b. Better to forgive.
It is much better to forgive than to retaliate. Forgive makes friends. Retaliate makes enemies.
c. Be given to the court.
And finally, let the court do their works. They hold the law. They have the right to punish. They represent God on earth. So, don’t act like God or judge. Be kind. Be humble. Be patient. ASH.
