2 Samuel 22:51
“He gives his king great victories; he shows unfailing kindness to his anointed, to David and his descendants forever.”

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sun, July 25, FOREVER (II Sam. 22:51). If we may choose God’s blessings, which one would we choose? Would we choose a kingdom, a victory, a fame, or a power? David didn’t choose all of them. David was given. He was given the best. He didn’t pay it at all. He didn’t worry to lose it. He didn’t do anything to receive those things
a. He was chosen.
If he chose, he might choose wrongly. He might choose things that he would regret later. He might choose what he couldn’t handle or maintain. He might be undeserved to receive it.

b. He was anointed.
He didn’t ask to be made as a king. He didn’t ask to be the father of The Israelites, even of 1 of the examples for all the children of God.

c. He was blessed.
He was blessed mightily. He was not blessed alone. He and his descendants would be blessed forever. Unlimited by numbers, places, even times. What a great grace to David. So is the grace to us. ASH.
