Genesis 15:16
In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.”

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sat, Oct. 24, FULL MEASURE (Gen. 15;16). No one knows the measure of God. Sometimes, it looks like very fast. The other times, it looks very slow. If we see the sin of David, it looks like God punished him right away. But if we see the sin of the Amorites here in this verse, it seems that God didn’t punish them for a long time. Although, they had killed many people and other sins. David killed 1 person and punished. Where is the justice? The justice of God is different from the justice of man
1. The more God loves, the more God chastises.
Don’t think that if God chastise, meaning God hates the person. The truth is, the more God loves the person, the faster and heavier the chastisement.

2. The higher the position, the faster the chastisement.
David was the king. He needed to be chastised first in order to be an example for the Israelites. The chosen people needed good spiritual example for their life. So they could learn how to behave in their life more seriously.

3. The thinker and initiator of sin would be chastised more.
David initiated the sin. He as a leader inititiated the plan to sin. He had to be chastised, so that the people would stop inititiating and making plans to sin.

Let’s live in holiness even more. So that, we can please God even more. (ASH)
