Psalms 35:19
Do not let those gloat over me who are my enemies without cause; do not let those who hate me without reason maliciously wink the eye.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sun, Mar. 6, HATE (Ps. 35:19). We can never please everybody. No matter how great we’be tried, it’s impossible to please everybody. A great person like David can not please everybody. He had many haters and enemies. Why?
1. Envy.
Perhaps, they just envy, why a young man like David could be chosen to be king? Defeated a giant miraculously? Married to the princess, daughter of Saul? Etc.

2. Lose.
Perhaps, they just lost to David. In competitions, in races, in achievements, in wealth, in many other things. Perhaps, they just couldn’t be better than David. They wanted what David had. Perhaps, they wanted as rich as David, as famous as David, etc.

3. Grief.
Perhaps, their loved ones had been killed by David. They hated David. They wanted to make revenge to David. They wanted to make David’s life suffer. They wanted David experience things like them. We just move on. ASH.
