2 Chronicles 8:14
In keeping with the ordinance of his father David, he appointed the divisions of the priests for their duties, and the Levites to lead the praise and to assist the priests according to each day’s requirement. He also appointed the gatekeepers by divisions for the various gates, because this was what David the man of God had ordered.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Tue, Oct. 19, MAN OF GOD (II Chron. 8:14). It is clearly written here, that David had a specific degree, not only giant slayer, The Israelites ancestor, biggest giver, great musician anf else, but also man of God. He had fallen in many sins. He cheated, killed and counted the number of the people. But he could be called man of God. It means:
a. No more penalizations.
No punishment in any forms. No death. No disease. No plague. No impending threats. God himself called him as the man of God.
b. No more repetition.
He didn’t repeat his sins. We don’t read storied about he did the same sins. He didn’t cheat, killed his officials unjustly or counted his peiple again.
c. No more limitation.
He served, obeyed and offered things which could not be compared and imitated by other people. He offered so much offerings, did many of ministries and so forth. His life was dedicated to serve God wholeheartedly. He was greater than himself before the punishments. We can be the same like him too, greater than before. ASH.
