1 Kings 21:3
But Naboth replied, “The Lord forbid that I should give you the inheritance of my ancestors.”

1 Kings 21:14
Then they sent word to Jezebel: “Naboth has been stoned to death.”

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Tue, Aug. 17, NABOTH (I Kg. 21:3, 14). Sometimes, the bad things happen in the life of a good man. We can see here that Naboth was a good man. a. He believed in God. He was not an infidel. He was not an unbeliever. He never blasphemed God. b. He honored the ancestors. He guarded the honor of the.ancestors well. He didn’t forget or mistreated his ancestors. Many people forget their ancestors. c. He honored the king. He spoke to the king Ahab kindly and honestly. He spoke to the king politely. He didn’t insult the king. But, bad things coming into his life
1. He was sold.
Queen Jezebel sold him into the hand of the authorities of the city. She sent letters to catch Naboth and bring him into people’s court.

2. He was slandered.
She asked the authorities to bring 2 scoundrels to slander him. The scoundrels said that Naboth had cursed the Lord and the king, the things in which actually Naboth was good at.

3. He was stoned.
The bad things didn’t stop only in words, only vocals, only speeches, but also stones. He was stoned to death. He didn’t curse. He didn’t say anything. He didn’t change his mind. He died in honor. God remembered and received his offering, his life. Shall we be strong, if bad things happen in our life? ASH.
