2 Chronicles 18:16
Then Micaiah answered, “I saw all Israel scattered on the hills like sheep without a shepherd, and the Lord said, ‘These people have no master. Let each one go home in peace.’ ”
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, Oct. 29, PROPHET (II Chron. 18:14, 16). True prophet was not known by his face, height, dress, etc. Whatever his outfit was, however his height and face was, not important. The important thing was only 1, the message. Here, the prophet of God, Micaiah, deliver what the Lord had said to him. He didn’t back up.
1. Micaiah vs the prophets.
Micaiah was asked in front of the other 400 prophets. All the other prophets said the same 1 thing, that Israel would be victorious in the war against Ramoth Gilead. The other prophets also used the same formula in delivering the message, that is, “The Lord said.”
2. Micaiah vs the official.
The official was sent by the king to bring him to the palace. The official also pressed him to say the same thing just as the other prophets.
3. Micaiah vs the king.
He was asked by the king himself directly. In front of the king, many people would feel nervous. Many people would say whatever the king like, just like Micaiah did at the beginning. But finally, he said the truth. He didn’t care for his own safety. When the true message of God came, it could not be stopped by anyone. ASH.
