2 Chronicles 10:19
So Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David to this day.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Thu, Oct. 21, REBELLION (II Chron. 10:19). How easy and quick a rebellion happen? Once people displeased, they would responsively rebel against the government. The government whom they chose, they rebelled against them. It happened in the time of Rehoboam. People rebelled against him. It happened for a very long time. What was the cause of their rebellion?
a. Heavy tax.
The king applied a heavy tax to the people. The tax was not reasonable. Ubnormal tax made the people angry. They could not pay the tax. They were unhappy.
b. Hard communication.
People have tried to communicate nicely to the king, but unfortunately the king didn’t want to listen to the people’s plea. The king ignored them and applied a heavy tax on them.
c. Horrible achievement.
Rehoboam practically did almost nothing for the people and the nation. He just wasted his time and opportunities to party and had fun. No wonder the people rebelled against him. So, let’s use our time well. ASH.
