2 Samuel 14:14
Like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be recovered, so we must die. But that is not what God desires; rather, he devises ways so that a banished person does not remain banished from him.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sun, July 18, RECOVER (II Sam. 14:14). People say that there are 3 things which can not be recovered in the world, that is time, opportunities and words. But The Bible adds 1 thing, water. If the water has been spilled on the floor, it can’t be recovered. Yes, those things can’t be recovered. Man can’t recover it. And God doesn’t have a plan to recover it all the time. But if God wants to do miracle, to recover them for certain purposes, God surely can. But the things which are much more important than all of those, which God wants to recover, is that:
1. Communication.
The more the communication, the less the miscommunication. The more we can share our feeling, thought, plans, we may be known and we may also know each other more. God wanted the communication of David and Absalom were recovered.

2. Compassion.
More than just a communication, the compassion of David toward his son was shown when he kissed his son. He didn’t only let him to meet him, come to see him, see his face, come to the palace, but also to come close and kissed him.

3. Commission.
Absalom’s position was restored as the son of the king. He was not banished anymore. He was not only acknowledge by other people, but he was acknowledged by his father. God is able to restore them in David and his son’s relationship. May God help us to experience those too in our life. ASH.
