Leviticus 14:6
He is then to take the live bird and dip it, together with the cedar wood, the scarlet yarn and the hyssop, into the blood of the bird that was killed over the fresh water.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Thu, Jan. 21, SCARLET (Lev. 14:6). Everything happens and made has a deep meaning. God never does something without deep meaning. Not only a happening, but it is a superb design. It is a beautiful picture. It is a poem. We can see it here from the color of the yarn. It can’t be any color. It has to be red. It can’t be any red (light red, maroon, reddish). It has to be scarlet. It can’t be any scarlet. It has to be scarlet as blood. Why?
1. Because, it is going to be dipped into the blood.
The color would be the same as blood. They got the idea of the color from seeing the blood. They compare the color with blood. They have to make the color water or paint similar to the blood. So everything which is going to be made scarlet, they dipped it into it.

2. Because, it reminds the people of the sacrifice.
Sacrifice has to spill the blood. Something has to die. Whether big or small animal. The color symbolizes the death.

3. Because, it reminds the people about the freedom from the sacrifice.
After the sacrifice, they are free. They don’t have to think or remember their sins again. Thanks God for his perfect sacrifice. Can we do something like that? Very elaborative? Very carefully made? ASH
