Leviticus 1:10
“ ‘If the offering is a burnt offering from the flock, from either the sheep or the goats, you are to offer a male without defect.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, Jan. 8, SHEEP AND GOAT (Lev. 1:10). Sheep is not the same as goat. They are really different from many things. Yet, both of them were created by God. Both of them were raised by The Israelites. Both of them were valuable for The Israelites. Both of them were eaten by The Israelites and both of them were accepted by God as the burnt offering. People try to appreciate sheep more than goat, although both of them were accepted by God. If the goat is bad, then, why God created, blessed and wanted to accept it?
a. The goat is accepted.
Sometimes, the offering is only goats. No sheep needed for the offering. No sheep to be added in the offering. Only goat is enough in the offering. The other time, both were offered in the offering.
b. The goat is equalized.
Male or female goat were equalized. No problem between male or female goat. Both were accepted by God.
c. The goat is interchanged.
Goat is mentioned first prior to the sheep. So goat is also prioritized than sheep. So, don’t underestimate the goat. Don”t consider that goat is unimportant. God likes the goat too. So, we have to respect goats too. ASH.
