2 Samuel 13:13
What about me? Where could I get rid of my disgrace? And what about you? You would be like one of the wicked fools in Israel. Please speak to the king; he will not keep me from being married to you.”
2 Samuel 13:15
Then Amnon hated her with intense hatred. In fact, he hated her more than he had loved her. Amnon said to her, “Get up and get out!”
2 Samuel 13:32
But Jonadab son of Shimeah, David’s brother, said, “My lord should not think that they killed all the princes; only Amnon is dead. This has been Absalom’s express intention ever since the day Amnon raped his sister Tamar.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sat, July 17, SHORT (II Sam. 13:13, 15, 32). The life of Amnon was filled with short in everything.
1. Short mind.
He didn’t think everything too long. He didn’t care if his action would cause many problems. He didn’t care if Tamar was his own sister. He didn’t care that the advise from his advisor would make him suffer. He didn’t care the disgrace for his sister. He didn’t care that the king would be angry.
2. Short love.
At first, he loved so much to her sister. He would sacrifice everything to be with Tamar. But after he raped her, right away, he hated his sister intensely.
3. Short life.
His life was finished in 1 chapter. His life was ended quickly before he reached his old age. That was the example of a short mind man. Let’s live wisely. ASH.
