Joshua 1:7
“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Thu, Apr. 15, STRONG AND COURAGEOUS (Jos. 1:7). Strong only is not enough. Courageous only is not enough. Joshua needs both. He has to be both strong and courageous. Why? So far he had been a brave general, killing the enemies. Why did God ask him to be strong nd courageous. Was it not enough for him so far?Be strong and courageous to:
a. To be the top leader.
So far, Joshua was the second man, the assistant of Moses. Now, he had to be the first one, the top leader. He had to be the leader. So far, he had not been the real leader yet. He just followed, obeyed, listened.
b. To be the initiator leader.
So far, he just obey whatever Moses said. Now, he had to think, initiate and proactive.
c. To be the caring leader.
So far, he just took care of himself. Now, he had to take care of this big nation. He had to take care of their well being, needs, problems, etc. Therefore, he needed both strong and courgaeous. I believe we need both too. ASH.
