John 3:10
“You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things?
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Tue, Sept. 1, TEACHER (Jn. 3:10). A teacher is a very respectable and honorable position at all time. A person who dares to be one, should really takes care of his own behavior, teachings and all things, including his apparels. But the most important thing of a teacher is his teachings. His teaching is not about the many, the length, the various, the numorous and so forth. But about the truth. What is more important than the truth? What benefit of a teacher, if he can teach many things, but all of them are not the truth? How dangerous of a teacher whom doesn’t teach many things but the truth? How serious the punishment of a teacher whom doesn’t teach the truth? The Bible says, a teacher whom doesn’t teach the truth should kill himself. In the story Jesus taught the truth to Nicodemus. He heard this for the first time. How could he claim himself to be a teacher, if he didn’t know the truth? This truth shocked him. Fortunately, it touched and inspired him. He believed, received and opened his heart. So he didn’t only know about salvation, but he also saved. From then on, he started to teach what a salvation was. If he didn’t meet with Jesus at that night, he wouldn’t understand about the truth and its importance. What about us? Have we understand the truth about salvation and its importance in such a way so that we want to receive and share it to everybody? (ASH)
