Mark 11:18
The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard this and began looking for a way to kill him, for they feared him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Mon, Aug. 24, KILL (Mk. 11:18). Killing is a serious sin punishable by death. Killing is prohibited since at the beginning, in the Old Testament, when The Torah was given the first time to the Israelite’s ancestors. Killing is usually done by scoundrels, sinners and sons of the devil. Ironically, here, the one who wanted to kill was the chief priest. Once again, the chief priest. Did he not know the law? Did he not understand his teaching so far? Did he not realize his position as the spiritual leader of the people? Did he not afraid of the punishment of the act? Yet he was the one whom making the plot to kill Jesus. This is the solid proof, that age, experiences, positions, knowledges and practices can not make a man good. Nothing can change the heart of men. Nothing can make men good. Nobody can save men. Therefore, we need Jesus. He is God whom can save and change the heart of men. Praise the Lord we have hope and answer in Jesus. So if we have Jesus, we will never kill in the actual, psychological or verbal killing. (ASH)
