Revelation 18:17
In one hour such great wealth has been brought to ruin!’ “Every sea captain, and all who travel by ship, the sailors, and all who earn their living from the sea, will stand far off.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sat, Oct. 17, 1 HOUR (Rev. 18:17). 1 hour can be a short time and a long time. It depends on the person. If the person wants to use it wisely, then, 1 hour would be more than enough. In this case, people of Babylon. If they wanted to use it well for repentance, then, it would be enough for them to be saved from judgement. But, if they didn’t want it, then, they would be condemned and punished to vanish forever. Repentance
a. The possibility of repentance.
God never punishes directly. He always gives enough time. If God directly punishes, then, he can’t punish. He has no ground to punish directly.
b. The premonition of repentance.
God sends many prophets, teachers, leaders, even parents to give warning for the people or families to repent. How many times in this case that Babylon has been reminded?
c. The place of repentance.
God never makes everything complicated. He makes it easy. We can repent everywhere. We don’t have to come to the church or holy places to repent.
d. The point of repentance.
Repentance is not abour voice, tear, fasting, prayer, offering and else. Repentance is about change. It’s a vain if repentance has everything, but no change.
So, let’s use the time well to always live in holiness that pleases God. (ASH)
