John 15:12
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, Sept. 4, AS I HAVE (Jn. 15:12). This truth I believe is very well known by many people. I believe that we know that we have to love each other. That is the interesting point. The verse is talking about others. The object is others. Not God per se. We are not commanded to love God as he loves us. The verse doesn’t say, love me as I have loved you. But love others as I have loved you. The proof of our love to God is others. If we don’t love others, we don’t love God. That’s it. So the more we love others, the more we love God. And on the other hand. No other possibility, way, truth except this. How much have we love others? (ASH)
