Job 26:7
He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, Jan. 14, ASTRONOMY (Job 26:7). Job was not only looking for money. He was not only a rich man. He was good in business to earn money. He was the richest person at his time. But he was also good in astronomy. How amazing was it? It looked like the knowledge was so simple for him. He mastered that knowledge.
1. He said the unseen.
He said clearly and bravely the unseen things. He had no telescope at that time. How could he know that the earth was hung on nothing? How did he know so many things about the galaxy?
2. He said the unmentioned.
He had not been taught at school. I believe not many people know as much as Job. Even, until the 6th century, people didn’t know as much as Job. At the 6th century, people still believe that the earth was carried by giants, the earth was flat, etc. Even, until today, there are some people whom believe that teaching.
3. He said the unconnected.
Not many people understand how to connect the greatness of the creation with its creator. David could connect between the creation and the creator. Job could too. And through that knowledge, they could be strengthened, comforted and supported. Shall we believe God more by this knowledge? ASH.
