Esther 5:9 Haman went out that day happy and in high spirits. But when he saw Mordecai at the king’s gate and observed that he neither rose nor showed fear in his presence, he was filled with rage against Mordecai.
Esther 5:14 His wife Zeresh and all his friends said to him, “Have a pole set up, reaching to a height of fifty cubits, and ask the king in the morning to have Mordecai impaled on it. Then go with the king to the banquet and enjoy yourself.” This suggestion delighted Haman, and he had the pole set up.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Tue, Dec. 14, CHANGE (Est. 5:9, 14). Everything changes. It changes quickly. It changes beyond our strength to control it. It changes although we don’t want it to change. It changes and can’t be reversed. Some of them are:
1. Rage.
Haman was in a high spirit. He was very happy. He was proud that he was honored highly by the king. But, once, he saw Mordechai, all of his happiness vanished. They turned into rage.
2. Wealth.
Haman was very wealthy. But tomorrow, in 1 day, he would lose all of his wealth. He couldn’t carry his wealth. His wealth couldn’t help him.
3. Life.
Haman didn’t know that tomorrow, he would be dead miserably and in humiliation on the pole. He could not keep his life. His life would be taken from him. So, be wise with this life. ASH.
