Acts 22:28
Then the commander said, “I had to pay a lot of money for my citizenship.” “But I was born a citizen,” Paul replied.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, Sept. 11, CITIZEN (Acts 22:28). Many people are dissatisfied with their citizenship. Many people want to change their citizenship or make a double citizenship. Why? To get more benefits or pride from their citizenship. As far as I know, citizenship can’t be earned or bought. But perhaps, a lot of money can give you citizenship. What we can earn, perhaps, for most people are green cards or permanent residences, not citizenships. Citizenship can only be “earned” by birth. A man is born with a certain citizenship automatically. No payment and no effort needed. It is easy, cheap and very fast. The question now, how to have a heavenly citizenship with its full benefits? Money and effort can’t get it. Lawyer can’t help it. Only 1 way to get it, God, the owner of heaven, gives it to us. Whoever believes in him, will be given power to be the children of God (Jn. 1:12). Have you got it? (ASH)
