2 Chronicles 28:6
In one day Pekah son of Remaliah killed a hundred and twenty thousand soldiers in Judah—because Judah had forsaken the Lord, the God of their ancestors.
2 Chronicles 28:8
The men of Israel took captive from their fellow Israelites who were from Judah two hundred thousand wives, sons and daughters. They also took a great deal of plunder, which they carried back to Samaria.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sun, Nov. 7, CIVIL WAR (II Chron. 28:6, 8). Brothers didn’t guarantee unity. Blood didn’t guarantee love and strong tie. Bond between them didn’t guarantee the partnership. Here, we can see that the Israelites were at war with their fellow men. The war was serious. Not a fake one. Not a pretending.
1. There was casualties.
That day, 120 thousands soldiers of Judah were killed. Those were actually their brothers. How could they kill their brothers?
2. There was captives.
That day, 200 thousands wives, sons and daughters were taken into captivity. They were taken into the city of Israel and kept in prisons.
3. There was plunder.
They took a lot of plunders too from Judah. The treasure and precious belonging of Judah were taken into Israel. This war was recorded in the Bible. The war which was horrible. Why do we have to be in war? Stop warring. Start loving. ASH.
