Joshua 6:20
When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Tue, Apr. 20, COLLAPSE (Jos. 6:20). Walking with God, everything seems so easy. Easy in terms of God makes the impossible possible. We can see many miracles in the journey. We cut the story short, talking about miracles in war, this was one of the easiest wars ever. They didn’t really have to fight. They fought in different way. We can leaarn the other meaning of war, not by shedding blood, but by:
a. Sounding.
They had to blow the trumpets during their marching around the city wall. The song is not told here. We don’t know what the song or the melody, but we know that they blew the trumpets continuously.
b. Silencing.
While they marched around the city wall, they didn’t say a word. They didn’t talk, communicate, make a joke, laughing and etc. They just blew and blew. After that, they went back home.
c. Shouting.
At the seventh day, they didn’t only blow and sound the trumpets, they also shout. They shouted the promise of God. They didn’t shout bad words, curses, threats, hatred and so forth. And The Lord gave them the city. So are in war? Let’s fight not with weapons, sword or spears, but by singing, silencing and praying. ASH.
