Esther 2:21
During the time Mordecai was sitting at the king’s gate, Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s officers who guarded the doorway, became angry and conspired to assassinate King Xerxes.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sat, Dec. 11, CONSPIRE (Est. 2:21). Evil can sneak in inside our mind and heart in any time. We don’t invite it to come, it come by itself. As if, it is alive and knows whoever would be its next target. In this case, it came into the heart of these 2 guards.
1. They didn’t guard their hearts.
When evil snuk in, they didn’t stop. They just couldn’t stop thinking, feeling envy, unsatisfied with the king’s decision. They didn’t try to overcome that feeling.
2. They didn’t guard their mouths.
They discussed the plan to kill the king to each other. They talked loudly enough, so that Mordechai could listen to their evil plot.
3. They didn’t guard their friends.
Evil doesn’t only make 1 person to be evil, but also make other people evil. If he stopped thingking evil, he wouldn’t make his friends evil too. So, guard our hearts and mouths from evil. ASH.
