Deuteronomy 7:25
The images of their gods you are to burn in the fire. Do not covet the silver and gold on them, and do not take it for yourselves, or you will be ensnared by it, for it is detestable to the Lord your God.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Thu, March 18, COVET (Deut. 7:25). This is the lingering problem that often makes us fall in sin, covet. We aren’t satisfied with what we have. We want what belong to other. We don’t give thanks to God for what he has given to us. We just demand more. Some people say that this is a universal sin. Why it is so dangerous?
a. It seems beneficial.
It seems making a person a better person. With covetousness, he will be more enthusiastic, more spiritful, bigger fighting spirit.
b. It seems fine.
People will change the name and use softer names.
People will call it determination, self improvement, good motivation and so forth. But it is a sin. No matter we wrap it with beautiful names, still is a sin.
c. It looks small.
It is unseen. It is deep in the heart. It is considered not exist. But it can appear in the surface. So, just don’t keep or play with this sin. Be gratitude. Be humble. Be patient. Don’t covet. ASH.
