2 Timothy 4:8
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sat, Oct. 3, CROWN (II Tim. 4:8). By this verse, we can see that Paul really was a brave man. He was brave not only to stand before men in any position: soldiers, religious leaders, so forth. But he was also brave to stand before God. He was confident that when he stood before God, he didn’t get punishments, but on the other hand, he got a crown. A special crown. Not a crown of precious stones, diamonds, golds or silvers. A crown of righteousness. He was sure that when he stood before God, all of his deeds on earth would be acknoledged by the holy God as righteous. Amazing isn’t it? Most people would hide before God. He wasn’t like that. Do we want the same crown? Do we want to be brave when we stand before God? Do we want to be sure that our life in heaven would not be full of shame? The answer is 1, always live in righteousness. (ASH)
