Deuteronomy 15:3
You may require payment from a foreigner, but you must cancel any debt your fellow Israelite owes you.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, March 26, DEBT (Deut. 15:3). The problem of debt is often makes a big problem in the relationship. It can cause a broken relationship. It can destroy a good relationship. God knows about it well. Therefore, he makes rules about debt.
a. Giving is better than making a debt.
If possible, God encourages us to give. Not to make a debt. If someone comes to you and asking a debt, if possible, we give them as a gift. Not as a debt.

b. Becoming the giver is better than becoming a debtor.
If possible and much happier if we work hard, so that we don’t have to ask a debt from somebody else. On the hand, we can stand on our own feet and perhaps the one who give gifts generously.

c. Cancelling a debt is better than giving a high interest.
If we give debts, remember to be prepared to cancel the debt. Not because he couldn’t pay. But, it is our commitment and initiative. We have to be ready to change that debts into gifts. So, let’s work hard. Don’t depend on debt. ASH.
