1 Samuel 15:3
Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.’ ”

1 Samuel 15:9
But Saul and the army spared Agag and the best of the sheep and cattle, the fat calves and lambs—everything that was good. These they were unwilling to destroy completely, but everything that was despised and weak they totally destroyed.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Thu, June 17 DISOBEDIENCE (I Sam. 15:3, 9). This is the 2nd of Saul’s disobedience to God. The first when he took over the sacrifice giving. The sacrifice giving was suppose only to be done by a prophet. He broke the law. And this time, he fell in sin again.
a. He didn’t kill all.
God through Samuel already gave him a simple and clear order to kill all The Amalekites. He didn’t obey.

b. He didn’t acknowledge his sin.
When Samuel confronted him, he still claimed that he had done all the command exactly like what God wanted.

c. He blamed the people.
Finally, when he was busted, he said that because of the people spared Agag’s life, so that he also didn’t kill Agag and the best cattle. We can see if one has sinned, he would sin continuously. He would go further and further into the rebelliousness. May The Lord helps us always to be holy. ASH.
