Leviticus 5:17
“If anyone sins and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, even though they do not know it, they are guilty and will be held responsible.

Shalom.sdr, my devotion today, Tue, Jan. 12, DO NOT KNOW (Lev. 5:17). Do not know is not the same as ignorance, fool and intentionally doing the mistake. Do not know means he has no knowledge at all toward the mistake. He doesn’t understand. He has no information. He has never does the mistake before. He has no experience in that area. But, it doesn’t mean that he is free, guiltless and sinless. He is still sinful. He still.needs to bring a sin offering. He still needs to be responsible. Why?
a. So that he would be informed.
If he is allowed to go free, then, he would repeat the same mistake. The information and experience are important for him, for his family and for the people around him.

b. So that he would be more careful.
Seeing the cost of the sin is serious, he would be more careful in the future. If he does it again, meaning, he is a fool.

c. So that he would be an example.
Other people may be aware, so that they would be more carefull too. A sin is a sin. No sin can disappear by itself. It has to be solved. It has to be cleaned. It has to be dealt seriously. Never play with sin. ASH
