Psalms 78:43
the day he displayed his signs in Egypt, his wonders in the region of Zoan.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Mon, Apr. 18, EGYPT (Ps. 78:43). Egypt was and is a great land till today. It was the land of warriors. The businesses flourish well. It was also the land of gods. They worshipped many gods. But, they were made helpless in front of God. The plagues were sent to free the chosen nation from them.
1. Although they were warriors.
They were victorious in wars. There were many warriors, fighters and soldiers. They were feared by all nations. They couldn’t defend themselves facing plagues of animals, natures and death. They were helpless toward the power of God.
2. Although they were unbelievers.
They believed in gods, not in God. Thus, although they had been told to free The Israelites, they hardened their hearts. So, although they didn’t believe in God, the miracles still happened in their land. Nothing could stop the miracles. Not their strength. Not their disbelief. Not their paganism.
3. Although they were sinners.
The sins had been very massive. Everybody sinned greatly. Sins were considered normal at that time. They were in good condition and thought it was because of their obedience and faithfulness toward their gods. They thought their sacrifices and worships had satisfied their gods, so the gods sent them abundance. They had not seen the real abundance. ASH.
